Absolutely love the new direction you have chosen to run and honor past and present members of the DF community.
I noticed that you had mentioned subcategories will be added later and it got me thinking after reading the HOH best straight shooters,HOH best turn fighters etc. so i was thinking why not HOH best Tanker, parachuting shooter and maybe best ground troop shooter? Many members of the df community have mastered that part of the game that is difficult for others, just thought it would be a good idea to honor those that are the best in every aspect of the game.

Lol TBUILT we have already chalked the same categories for next month plus two more which Ripper will publish in coming days. Anyways thank you for the excellent idea which is in line with what we are thinking. You will love the other two categories also.

Thanks Sir T! As Blue mentioned, these very topics will be making an appearance soon! If all goes as planned, there will eventually be topics to cover just about everything!

On another note, glad you posted on this thread. Despite my We've moved sign, we'll be moving the question and comments thread back here this evening. Was a long day yesterday and I got a little ahead of myself!

Rules for Nominating and Voting

Sub Categories

The first 5 Sub Categories will be:

1. Best Head On Fighter

2. Best Turn Fighter

3. Best strategic Fighter (finding tactical advantage / team coordination, etc.)

4. Best Post Writer on Forum

5. Best Supporting Member ( one who works with others to resolve issues technical and non technical )

IMPORTANT:
Separate threads have been created for each category to ease the compilation process.
Please vote under the respective thread categories.

The Sub categories will be different for the second Month. This will help reduce bias in voting.


Sub Category Voting

• Each Month Sub Category voting will begin on the First of the Month and last to the 20th.
• During this period everyone will be allowed to vote for 3 people per category.
• You cannot vote for yourself.
• Please use the Players full in game / forum name, include their Squad name if applicable.
• This will help avoid confusion of names. If necessary we will send you a PM to clarify.
• If you select more than 3 people, we will use the first 3 names in your post.
• When making your votes we urge you to consider, game play, skill, attitude, and participation in the game, forum, and Dogfight Community.
• After twenty days voting will end and names will be compiled.
• We will then present the top ten members from each category.
• Their names will be added to the Hall of Honor under the category for the Month.
• The 2 members with the highest vote total of all 5 categories will win a nomination for the Best of the Best category.

Best of the Best

Nominations and Voting

• Nominations for the Best of the Best will begin on the 1st of every Third Month and will last for 10 days.
• Each person can nominate 3 people.
• Please use members full in game / forum name.
• If you nominate more than 3 people, we will take the first 3 names in your post.
• At the end of the nomination period the 4 highest vote totals plus the 2 Nominees from the Sub Categories will be presented for voting.
• Once voting begins everyone will be allowed to vote for 3 of the nominees.
• You cannot vote for yourself.
• The voting period will last for 14 days.
• If you cast multiple votes, again, we will use the first name in your post.
• At the conclusion of the voting period, votes will be tallied and the 4 Inductees will be announced on the nomination / voting thread.


• Their names will be added to the Official Hall of Honor list.
• They will also be given a badge to add into their signature identifying them as a Member of the Hall of Honor.

IMPORTANT NOTES:

• There will not be a "Hall of Shame". This Hall is totally focused on the positive aspects and influences of the game and Players.
• Second, in the event of a tie in either category, World Rank will decide the winner.

In the categories your nominations are votes. You're good Brother!

When we run the Best of the Best category, it will be an actual nomination period and separate voting period. In the Categories there will be a #1 for each, with the top ten being published in the records. Badges will be awarded to the top 5.

The top 2 who earn the most combined votes will earn a nomination for the Best of the Best.

There will be an additional 4 nominees selected by all of you when we run the B.O.B.
It will take place every third month.

If I may give some unsolicited advice:

I can't speak for everyone, but I'm growing impatient waiting for the results. The edge of my seat is wearing thin. Also, it seems the votes are mostly in. Therefore, I'm wondering if the voting time could be shortened next month. 1 week, 2? Disregard if I am mistaken.

Let me reiterate how well the HOH is going. Lookin' good guys.

Our goal is to keep everyone on the edge of their seats! Spread the word !

The Blue Fighter is wearing out the Calculator, I'm working the the first 5
"Wings of Honor" awards ( still moving a bit slow)

In the next few days we will announce the Winners and present Your Top Ten for each Category.

We will also begin the next round of Categories, this time, again, we will stagger the Threads rather than roll all 5 out at once.

Also, want to mention, we had anticipated some ties and stated in the rules that World Rank would be the deciding factor.

Have to say, we didn't anticipate so many ties! World Rank will still be used to decide the order, but just to give you and idea,
There are several multiple ties in the categories for example, a 5 way tie for second, a 9 way tie for 4th, etc.
Total number of votes will be the first consideration and World Rank will determine positioning in the Top Ten's.

Good point raised by you but don't you think that Hall of Honor should be given to the deserving one. If they are Davy, Hulk, Tbuilt then they have earned it. We can't take their expertise just by saying that they are in top 50 or 100.

If you or anyone has better idea, just mention here. If it is appealing to everyone, then we'll implement in that way.

You are right Bullet, sir Davy will not come in Head on Fighter category nominations as he has already established his supremacy. Skyripper will be framing rules once he is fully recovered. This category will come again after some time as many deserving pilots are still to be nominated.

Recognition for hardworks and forensic analysis carry out. hard work there. the honour should be given to blue fighter and skyripper. dont you fellas think so. give them a medal. this is something that non of us can ever do

First and foremost, Thank you all once again for your support. You have helped Blue Fighter and I to not only achieve, but exceed our goals with this project.

Second, Brother Bullet we're right there with you. In the next few days, ( meds permitting lol) we will adjust the rules to fit the new direction of the Hall of a Honor.

We will also present the Official Hall of Records where all awards and Top Tens will be permanently displayed.

We will unveil the 2 members who have earned a nomination for the upcoming Best of the Best Category, which will be the highest a Honor of the HOH.
