Dont you guys agree that it would be cool to have airplane customization? Not like different weapons and stuff but if you could like paint your planes the way you want them? It would make everyones unique and give you the feeling that its your own creation rather than default. Tell me if thats a good idea or not.

I can already see -- the thousands of naked women all over the planes already.

Colors would be good, but I don't think users should be able to draw their own designs. We all know where that'd go.

Agree with slender... 95% would be fine, but the other 5% would be horrible. Maybe it should be something you can do when you hit a certain rank.... Give the guys with all of the planes already something to strive for. Even use points to pay for it.

hey guys, it would need to be something that - you do the art and then put it to a mod for approval? that way we all still get the chance to create- a-plane but without the risk of idiots ruining the privelidge!

I don't know how it's programmed, but I'm guessing that what we each see (others' planes plus the external view of our own plane) is all stored locally for fast access. So while custom paint might be conceivable for local viewing of ourselves, I imagine it would be a huge network load to see each others' schemes. If memory serves, those tiger striped planes were special adds but weren't scalable to all players to have unique planes.

If I am thinking of this correctly, either the game would run super slow or at least it would pause bigtime every time someone new entered an ongoing game. But then again, I'm not the programmer.

(Just thought I'd throw water on everyone's excitement. Sorry!)

You have no idea how swamped we'd get if we had to manually approve every plane. Not to mention all the butthurt messages saying;

"WTF Y DID U DISPROVE IT?!"

or

"Wen r u going to approve mine its been 3 dayz"


If we were to have customizations -- it would have to be limited to colors & pre-finished designs.


And Manfred is correct, it may actually slow down gameplay or you may lose several frames per second. Besides, you hardly see an enemy plane's design -- most "dogfights" occur from a distance.

thats very true slenderman - the only way would either be that you have your design in hangar view only or that each squad has its logo on the tail of the plane to distinguish it.

Why not just allow us to put a pattern ( from a variety of patteens set out/approved by mods) and color choice on our parachute?
(since EVERYONE sees parachutes)

Yeah, that does take priority.
Yesterday, I was finally able to get on after nearly 12-14 hours of "server is full. Try again in a few minutes."

I would suggest just being a able to choose a different color for your plane and different logo on the Albatros.I want a skull and not a flower on my albatros.
