AI personhood?

It's hard to keep up with all of the latest developments in AI. It's getting harder to tell the difference between humans and AI on the telephone. Many telemarketers and assistance call lines are now "maned" by computerized voices which are intended to be indistinguishable from live operators. Even some androids now need a second glance to recognize they are synthetic.

Is this okay? Is artificial intelligence just another tool to make things easier or more profitable for their owners or is it going further than that? Can AI be granted legal personhood? Due to legal loopholes Artificial Intelligence systems can be granted some legal personhood status simply by giving them control of a corporation.

An AI controlled corporation can:
* make donations to influence elections
* own property
* hire employees
* file lawsuits
* ?????

From the article:
Humans aren't the only people in society – at least according to the law. In the U.S., corporations have been given rights of free speech and religion. Some natural features also have person-like rights. But both of those required changes to the legal system. A new argument has laid a path for artificial intelligence systems to be recognized as people too – without any legislation, court rulings or other revisions to existing law.

Corporate personhood
Corporate personhood is a legal concept that a corporation, as a group of people, may be recognized as having some of the same legal rights and responsibilities as an individual. For example, corporations may contract with other parties and sue or be sued in court in the same way as natural persons or unincorporated associations of persons.

It's here. The AI Fighter.

"Fighter like capability at a fraction of the cost."

Are manned fighters soon going to be a thing of the past?

Boeing's new "Loyal Wingman" is an unmanned drone currently being pitched as a "force multiplier". Remote or autonomous, it is a cheaper, more versatile option to traditional military aircraft for reconnaissance and electronic warfare, while future configurations will include on board weapons systems.

What benefits will there be to keeping human pilots?

What limits are there to ranges, sizes or capabilities?

We are now in a new tech cold war.

Have you seen the new movie "Angel has fallen" where an AI drone strike was used to try to assassinate President Morgan Freeman? The movie was fiction but the tech is real. Welcome to the new world.

From The Atlantic: Coming Soon to a Battlefield: Robots That Can Kill
www.msn.com/en-us/news/technology/coming...ar-AAGJOjj?OCID=AMZN

From the article:
"The fear that the U.S. will be outpaced by a rival, namely China or Russia, has already triggered a “tech Cold War,” as retired Army General David Petraeus termed it when asked in a CNBC interview about the challenges now facing Secretary of Defense Mark Esper. Until this year, the Pentagon never said how much its artificial-intelligence work cost, though the Congressional Research Service estimated that the Defense Department spent more than $600 million on unclassified artificial-intelligence work in FY2016 and more than $800 million in FY2017."

"...Putin said that relying on artificial intelligence “comes with colossal opportunities, but also threats that are difficult to predict.” He added nonetheless that the nation that leads in the development of AI will “become the ruler of the world.”

PS. If Morgan Freeman ran for president in 2020 he would probably win. ;)

Have a seat, grab a favorite drink and let me share a couple thoughts and observations... Make mine a decent Tequila please

Yes, even now we are witnessing a battle for global domination by at least 2 different AI...
AI already makes the decisions for courses of action for several major governments... some AI decisions and actions can be in favor of humanity and some have a goal of total enslavement of humans...
AI listens in to all your phone calls for key words and phrases, reads all emails and reads all forums (including this one) and even your chats while you fly Dogfight... AI has been online for quite a while already...

Go ahead and laugh, shake your head and call me crazy or paranoid or whatever... I am fine with that... one day, sooner or later the truth will be revealed... (and for the record, I don't know anything about the Clintons and will never commit suicide...)
OK, that being said, eventually humans will have to evolve in to machines or andriods as these flimsy and weak meat bag bodies will not handle the environment of space and this Earth won't support these numbers of meat bag humans for much longer...

Is there anymore Tequila left?? Damn, that went fast...
Oh, by the way... Watch this...
