I have shot through 2" of steel with 30.06 armour piercing rounds, so I know from my own experience that if I had been able to stand in peace and quiet firing at the same spot on a tank I would eventually have been able to get through.
I still have a package of those chrome vanadium alloy 30.06s, so if someone has a tank and wants to give me a try, I'me ready.
Ah -- same here! Except I used 7.56x54r ammunition. Basically, the Russian counterpart of the 30-06, heheh. A bit more corrosive, but about the same.
I really enjoyed the satisfying sound of the slug penetrating the thick steel target I used.
Hahahah, too bad I'm out of Grizzly's. (The brand who made 'em)
