Good evening wolf pack.. Last night around 2100 hrs mt time I had the pleasure of flying with five of your members in two consecutive games, even had a fur ball at one time with all five.. Bottom line was one of the better experiences I've had on DF..

I'm a low tech geez ("uhh, can I get that in steam power") that promised myself I wouldn't join a Sqd. till I had an avatar and assorted other cool looking stuff (banners, etc) I still think that's wise, but after my experience yesterday I thought I'd swing by and say hi..

I've had a number of Sqd offers and have held off till now, but after the good time with dire, squeek, and others wolf pack seems like my sort of place.. Brief bio, and please excuse any ego in the following:

I'm a for real alpha male, retired prison LT (Arizona DOC) old school inked up biker (on HD # 7, a sportster I reprinted olive drab with white stars as a copy of the WWII WLA flathead) The pistol stuff is for real, I collect and shoot both 1911's (45 autos) and a bunch of Smith 38/.357's.. The most important thing is the padre part .. I've truly been blessed and sort of hoping down the road I could be the Sqd chaplain (like the military equivalent beer is NOT frowned on) I was a member of Navy patrol Sqd. (VP-26) P-3 Orion's .. We lost two 12 man air crews in Vietnam in 67/68, but I was never in danger of anything more dangerous than falling off. Bar stool in the Phillipines .. Wonderful wife, and two goofy dogs and you have me.. Greg.. That's it (IF) you want me please give me time to do the avatar and banner thing.. Thank you, and a for real God bless.

Had a good destroy-enemy-base game last night, Black Wolf was there. Went on for over 2 hours and it was a lot of fun. At one point though, just after I bombed the enemy's hangar, a red told me that I was invisible. It must have happened for only a short time because a few minutes later I was visible and dogfighting again. I've been shot down by invisible planes before and have flown from base to base (under 500 feet) in games with several pilots without seeing anyone on the radar or in the arena. Have these things happened to anyone else? I thought at first it was problem with my wifi in hotspot mode but it happens on my home wifi too. Has anyone else seen this?

Yes, I've had that happen too where a player is invisible. At first I wondered if game was hacked, but it's extreme lag. I'm not sure, but there are players from all over the world and differences in internet source might cause the reason--I play often with 'm' a GI and notice he lags quite a bit and he's from India.

Hoping next update fixes it.

that didn't work either, just wanted to discuss my experience with landings.

I find it best to cut the throttle short of the runway when you know you're going to make the threshold and then glide in. Tilt back or pull back on the joy stick as you get close to the ground and let the plane settle on the runway. Carrier landings are the same but when you land into the front of the carrier you need to cut the throttle at about twice the distance otherwise you'll overshoot the deck
