Hello Laffayettes,

Blu breeze here,
I just had a good idea while dreaming about the old days of df, u know. Back when most everyone got along right. Its still here, but it has faded alot. Ive even noticed the jolly roger is about abandoned. I was thinking of a way to help bring the forum back together as a community and a group and wanted to see what all the forumers thought about my idea. Right now, it seems most everyone stays on their squadron thread, rarely venturing to any other squad thread, unless to send a shout out to a player from that squad. I had the idea, if everyone is on board, to see about making, or asking zup to make a general chat thread. A place where everyone can talk about whatever. To everyone. It seems to me like this would be a great way to involve everyone on the forum and allow a place for everyone to interact, as a community. I love the df community, but it seems its become rather solitary since my leave and id like to see it back to the way it used to be.
My appologies for the copy and paste post and for the abrupt posting from nowhere. I just wanted to see what everyone thinks of this idea.
What are yalls taking on this?

I will over the next week or two be going through our Flight Roster (on our 1st post on 1st page) and initially be moving pilots that haven't played for over 6 months from our Honored Reserve wing to the 'Missing In Action' category. These pilots will still be considered to be in our Honored Reserve wing and have the opportunity to rejoin the squadron if they become active in the game again in the future. But this will open up spots in the escadrille for more active pilots to join our little family of deadly killers.

This is required because zuperman has imposed a 50 member limit to squadrons in Dogfight

So 'kicking' them from the squadron becomes a necessary event.

If the squadrons could be any size (as in the past) I wouldn't implement this, however, this is the situation and Lafayette deserves a live beating heart of core fliers instead of wistful memories of pilots from the past.

If anyone has anything positive or negative to say about this please PM me.. as I haven't started yet and am open to alternative suggestions.

I was on a roll yesterday.. had a few great results in missions.

Here's a couple of screenshots..

A long capture the carrier mission.. I played defense of our carrier primarily... kudos to the reds, they wouldn't quit & stop coming! I was only killed once, by Jasta1.. the other 2 deaths were crashes.


Late to this dogfight mission but then I was on a killing spree! I was smoking like a cheap cigar a couple of times but managed to land and locked my brakes to get repaired & re-ammo'd & avoided getting killed.

Okay, after reviewing everyone's most recent flight here in Dogfight I have determined there are 12 pilots that haven't flown in 6 months or more.. so they have been put in the MIA category and kicked from the squadron to open spots for more active pilots.

They can rejoin us at any time if they return to actively play the game.

FADACO should also be considered in the below group, but since she (like Toph) joined Lafayette before there even WAS an escadrille bearing that great name, as well as had to leave the game NOT of her own volition, she has been given our Honored Reserve Wing Commander slot and as such will be carried on our active Flight Roster as well as stay in the escadrille in-game.

Other pilots on our active Flight Roster on our 1st post on page 1 of our squadron thread that haven't played in over 90+ days and/or are approaching the 180 days mark are in Gold as well.


As I said before, our escadrille deserves a live beating heart of flying pilots rather than the fond and cherished memories of ghosts of the past. If zuperman hadn't imposed a 50 member limit for squadron in Dogfight I wouldn't have to do this.

It it Rea big in Australia and new Zealand I found that you can only watch it on MAV tv dish is the only one that carries it but you can watch it live streaming I'll get you the link if you want it

I recently came across a really cool documentary by accident called 'Fighting the Red Baron' About modern day pilots flying early planes that try to accomplish tasks routinely done by WWI pilots.

Two Red Arrows pilots recreate the challenges the aviators of World War I faced, flying original WWI aircraft, to find out how this pioneering form of warfare changed so rapidly during the conflict.

Watch it if you get a chance.
