CONGRATULATIONS Squeak!! Wear the stars with pride my friend. They are difficult to earn and you certainly demonstrated you posses the fighting spirit of Wolf Pack.

Padre, use the external camera view for landings... makes them very easy and more importantly easy to master. I have developed a system of fly to points and adjust my throttle at certain points to make landings consistent. I know that is more difficult with a carrier landing but if you practice you will find your "groove". The key is consistency... all your landings should look and feel the same.

Thanks Viper.. I don't know how much "off topic" stuff is the norm in sqd chat.. But this brings up stuff I want to talk about, IF there's a better place for it than here please let me know.. Ok, couple of those I fought with today said my WOLF PACK and name looked good.. Wish I could see it, but will take their word.. My favorite part of DF is the fight .. Understand the finer points of the game are in base bomb missions, but to me I'm like a 12 year old kid with a playboy magazine when it's a fight .. The first "winged" round that brings smoke gets me maxed, even if I wind up being torched.. Guessing this is the same for all, this might not be.. If I'm up in the middle of the night (common occurrence) and open up the menu to see it's just me I have a lot of fun just flying.. Landing on the villa that sits above the bridge.. Landing on the bridge and taxing across .. I know this is sorta weird, but it's fun to land and check out the increadable detail .. I won't run on like this in the future, just expressing for the first time how much I love this place..

Two quick things and I'll go sit on the geezer bench till needed.. Planes .. I have a D8 I love, and a camel that goes fast lol.. I'm not maxed on bombs yet ($) but it will happen ASAP .. Motorcycles , I know your bike Squeak, I've never had a soft tail, but many many friends over the years.. I've had two super glides (FXR, and FXD) one FLH (ex police scoot) the rest have been sporty's, the one I have and plan on keeping is a pretty close copy of a WWII WLA flathead.. Of note here is that Harley's were used in WWI, last on this anyone who wants pics can send me a pm with email or text (pics on my phone) and ending thought .. Forgive my long thread, I'm just happy that this is working out as it is.. NO more long winded stuff from now on..

Ugh..lag was so bad in a game. I was shooting and hitting team mates by accident--it was like I was in the past or future. Damn..I was banned for 5 minutes. Squeak, I agree there is something up with lag and not seeing planes. I hate I did that to my fellow team mates..grrrrr.

It sounds like you enjoy just practicing flying and that is a good idea. I used some of those empty games to work on my combat maneuvers, again using the external view. Once I got the muscle memory down it became second nature when playing and dogfighting against others. Too bad there isn't a way to practice long shots.. like target practice. I need help with that for sure.

Hey brother wolfs.. The wolf howl thing cracks me up, but I do believe in comaradity, and even if it's a wee bit "too" close to the great wolf pack sceen in the movie Hangover, I'm in for all of us putting our heads back and letting the "HOWL" rip !

Flying eticate question.. When were on opposing sides is it a given that we shoot each other ? My experiance is we do, think it's more a question of prioritys.. For example, say you're in a bomb camp game and have four reds coming at you, one is a brother wolf, is it the best "form" to shoot others first, or to go for fellow Sqd member first .. A good argument could be made for each, but I want to know what the Sqd. rule is on this..

My flyings stalled, maybe because I haven't been able to fly as much as I want, or had been doing, but it's stalled .. When I first started I really didn't care about being shot down.. Stat's mention nothing to me.. Then after a week ( now on week three) I got serious and everything clicked, I was really happy with the improvements .. Then the "duhh.. I'm a retard" showed up in my flying and I'm either spot on or an easy target.. Is this "stage" thing common or am I doomed to be a surprise myself pilot for ever..

Dropping? .. I've got a magor issue with spawn killers, so that part is simple, but dropping makes strategic sense sometimes, so when I'm outnumbered is dropping ok?

Hey Bro.

It is ok to shoot down a member of the Pack as long as they are on the opposing team. Code of Conduct #4 says to help your team mates to win, so shoot down who you have to first in order to get the W. I personally am not a fan of dropping especially when in a bombing mission. But we do not have any Code in the Pack that says you can not drop nor is it against game rules. So Code of Conduct #4 comes in to play again, do what you need to in order to help your team win, if you need to drop, then drop but have a good reason so that you can back up your decision to drop if challenged. As for your flying you will have good days and bad, good weeks and bad, but the more you play the more consistent you will get with good play. Ha! Interesting questions Padre. To answer one of them on games when there are brother wolves on the red side my decision to shoot them is generally based on when they entered the game vs. when I entered. If they enter a game I am already in and do not switch I will likely go for them first. It is pretty rare I enter a game with WP members when I don't switch sides to join them, thus the basis for my decision on that. Otherwise the most lethal opponent should be the target.

Regarding dropping I am a silent (mostly) dropping opponent, unless you are outnumbered. In that event all bets are off, fly to win and defend your hangars/ship! Nothing worse for me that dropping and successfully defending my base and then have to fly around bomb-less. No sense of purpose you know. My plane is fast and when I drop one bomb I often get accused of dropping both but as a general rule I am usually carrying ordinance. Mostly for feeling silly without a sense of purpose, if that makes sense.

Regarding your ability there is a WP tactics guide that is being written which will provide tips for flying, fighting, and winning. I have learned a lot recently and have done a few re-writes of the manual to reflect some new tactics. Most are for team flying but I have been working on adding stuff for solo ACM's that should help. Kinda basic because there are only two available flight control surfaces (pitch and roll, no yaw) but effective as I am finding out.

My two cents here...I switch sides if early in the game to be with my fellow pack members, as many of us who fly together have learned what to expect and anticipate. If it's evenly matched I will stay and fight for my team, even if pack members are on opposite side.
Now if a pack member is outnumbered or the ONLY one on the opposing team, I always support the pack member and switch. I would never gun down a lone brother wolf! OOOOoooooOOOO

The Bear wants to share some good news to the pack. For the last few weeks the bear has been endeavoring to equal his deaths and kills. Its been real hard but bear and his white tripehound have stuck at it. At one stage i was over 700 deaths behind but i want to anounce that i now have more kills than deaths!!! Hoooowwwlllllllll!
3,112 kills and 3,111 deaths to be precise. In celebration of this milestone the tripehound is parking up in the hanger and i have purchased F1 Camel! (i had to use real money but i reckon i deserve it. I love the tripehound but its time to upgrade)
